Russell Westbrook says he is finally healthy following the Washington Wizards epic win over the Brooklyn Nets. Westbrook scored a game-high 41 points and added 10 rebounds and eight assists. He also hit the go-ahead three pointer during the Wizards’ wild rally.
“I got healthy,” Westbrook explained the difference in his play lately compared to the start of the season.
Westbrook has been hampered by a quad injury. He struggled through his first nine games of the season. But something clicked after the Wizards’ loss to John Wall and the Houston Rockets. Westbrook scored 26 points in 27 minutes in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He followed that up with a season-high 41 against the Nets.
He looked more mobile, aggressive and energetic. Maybe, a late jawing match against Wall also lit a competitive fire in Westbrook. Whatever the case, his health is trending upwards and he’s displayed some of the ole’ Westbrook and not an old Westbrook.
