Washington re-signing KR/CB Danny Johnson to one-year deal

The Washington Football Team addressed its need for a starting cornerback by signing former Cincinnati Bengal William Jackson III late Tuesday night. Now, they are maintaining depth in the secondary and special teams by re-signing Danny Johnson to a one-year deal, according to John Keim of ESPN.

The 25-year old Johnson has spent three seasons with Washington after signing with the team in 2018 as an undrafted rookie.

Washington looked to get a deal one with Johnson before free agency started. After failing to get a done done, Johnson was allowed to test free agency. However, the two sides came to an agreement shortly afterwards.

Johnson has appeared in 30 games with Washington, including three starts. Last season, all of his 236 snaps were on special teams. He returned 26 kickoffs for 573 yards, an average of 22 yards per return.
