Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taylor Heinicke have favorable odds to be Packers next starting QB

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers continue to be at odds. So much so, Vegas is starting to recognize the real possibility of Rodgers being in a different uniform at the start of the 2021 season.

Teams appear to be lining up whenever the Packers open up the sweepstakes. The Denver Broncos jump out as the odds-on favorite. But there are other teams that seem like good fits for the three-time NFL MVP. That includes the Washington Football Team.

Vegas agrees as both of Washington’s quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke have favorable odds to be the Week 1 starter for the Green Bay Packers next season.

Fitzpatrick is at 10/1 odds via Sports Betting AG. Heinicke odds is doubled at 20/1. The list of quarterbacks with top odds shows Vegas has identified Washington, Denver, Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Francisco and Miami as realistic landing spots for Rodgers.

Jordan Love, the Packers’ 2020 first-round pick, is third behind the Broncos’ Drew Lock and Raiders’ Derek Carr.

Surprisingly, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks has high odds of being a Packer next year. There has been no identifications of the Seahawks being interested in Rodgers. However, Wilson has expressed his frustration with Seattle as well.

Washington is “very confident” with their QB options. Fitzpatrick signed a one-year deal worth up to $12 million this offseason. Heinicke signed a two-year extension in February to keep him in Washington. Yet, if Washington can upgrade at quarterback to Aaron Rodgers, they almost certainly will take the opportunity.

If the Packers opt to grant Rodgers his wish and trades him, indications point strongly to after June 1 for the most likely time frame.
