Report: Washington to play Broncos on Halloween in Week 8

The National Football League is set to release the 2021 schedule later Wednesday. However, tidbits about the schedule are leaking. Those leaks may have provided at least one game for the Washington Football Team.

According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, Washington will travel to the Denver Broncos in Week 8 on Halloween. Kickoff will be at 4:25 EST and broadcast on FOX. It appears the game will be part of FOX’s national game window.

An interesting angle could be part of the game. The Broncos are slated to induct former head coach Mike Shanahan into their Ring of Fame during a game this upcoming season.

What a perfect game to select. In addition to Shanahan winning two Super Bowl titles in 14 seasons with the Broncos, he coached Washington for four seasons. He won an NFC East division title in 2012, but his tenure with the team ended in abrupt fashion in large due to Robert Griffin III saga that ensued the next season.

Another intriguing aspect could be who will be the quarterback for the Broncos. Denver is considered the odds-on favorite to landing three-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, if the Green Bay Packers opt to trade him. Washington also has favorable odds to land Rodgers, according to Vegas.

Meanwhile, there also appears to be several other hints to how Washington’s schedule could shape up.

What we do know is who the Washington Football Team will play this season. It’s only a matter of how the schedule will line up.

The league schedule will be revealed Wednesday at 8 pm EST on multiple specials between the NFL Network, FS1 and ESPN. However, the NFL TV partners, CBS, ABC and FOX will reveal details on their Week 1 NFL schedules during their respective morning shows.
