Terry McLaurin gives TO response to Taylor Heinicke wearing ‘Scary Terry’ shirt

Terry McLaurin is arguably Taylor Heinicke’s favorite teammate. The Washington Football Team quarterback has targeted the star wide receiver 25 times through the first three games of the season.

McLaurin has been a huge part of Heinicke’s mediocre rise to being Washington’s starting quarterback. Thus on Wednesday, Heinicke showed his appreciation wearing a “Scary Terry” shirt highlighting his star receiver.

As McLaurin has blossomed since being drafted in 2019, fans have fished for a nickname. Of all the options it appears “Scary Terry” has caught on the most.

Heinicke did his post-practice media session with the shirt on. That prompted a Terrell Owens-type response from McLaurin on Twitter.

For those not familiar, an emotional Owens defended his quarterback Tony Romo while playing for the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys had just lost a playoff game, and Owens rushed to Romo’s defense with the famous words “That’s my quarterback!”

One thing is for certain, all jokes aside, it appears there are a lot of players including McLaurin pulling for Heinicke to cement himself as the starter in Washington.
