The Washington Football Team has released wide receiver Kelvin Harmon and safety Cole Luke from the practice squad. The team announced Tuesday.
Their releases were to make room for signing kicker Chris Blewitt and linebacker De’Jon Harris.
Harmon was a sixth-round draft pick of Washington’s in 2019. He had a solid rookie season with 30 catches for 365 yards. However, he tore his ACL during an offseason workout before the 2020 season.
He returned to this year’s training camp but was released in August before the team brought him back last month to the practice squad.
Washington re-signed Blewitt after cutting him last week to make room for Luke. He’ll more than likely serve as an emergency kicker as Washington has back-to-back road games the next two weeks.
Harris went undrafted in 2020 out of Arkansas. His addition comes as Washington is banged up at linebacker. Jared Norris (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve last week while Jon Bostic (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve earlier this month.
