Washington Wizards center Daniel Gafford suffered a right quad contusion as result of scary collision with Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

Both players were shaken up but Gafford to the worst of the collision. He laid on the court for several moments before being helped off the court.

Initially there were concerns of a knee injury from onlookers. The Wizards have ruled Gafford out for the remainder of Wednesday’s contest with the quad contusion.

Gafford leaves the game with three points and four rebounds in seven minutes. He entered the game averaging 9.7 points on 68.8% shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks through the first three games.

His exit means an increase in minutes for center Montrezl Harrell. Washington is already without guard Raul Neto, who missed Wednesday’s game with a shoulder contusion. Neto is listed as day-to-day.
