Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns fell hard to the floor late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards. Towns landed on his backside and was visibly in pain.
X-rays on Town’s lower back were negative, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Towns ultimately made his way to the bench before going to the locker room before the game ended. The Wizards won 115-107.
Towns had a game-high 34 points, 10 rebounds and a block in 33 minutes before exiting the game. It was his 83rd career game with at least 30 points. Towns surpassed Kevin Garnett for the most 30-point games in Timberwolves history.
“I feel better than I thought I was gonna feel,” Towns said after undergoing X-rays per Timberwolves insider Dane Moore.
The two-time all-star has appeared in all 22 games for Minnesota this season. He presumably will feel the effects of his fall in the morning. The Timberwolves’ next game is Friday at Brooklyn.
