Washington Football Team cornerback William Jackson may be dealing with a rare Achilles sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fortunately for Jackson, it appears he didn’t suffer the more severe torn Achilles. The initial diagnosis “sounds encouraging” according to Washington head coach Ron Rivera. However, the team needs confirmation and is undergoing an MRI.
Jackson exited Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the second quarter with a non contact injury.
He was limited to 31 of Washington’s 71 defensive snaps.
Jackson started 12 games this season after signing a three-year, $40.5 million deal with Washington this past offseason. He previously missed two games with a knee injury.
On the season, Jackson has 39 tackles and two interceptions. We’ll have to wait for official word on the extent of the injury and what is the timetable for his return.
