Landon Collins, William Jackson among four ruled out for Washington

A week after being shorthanded 13 players due to COVID-19, the Washington Football Team will be without four of its prominent defensive players Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Safety Landon Collins (foot), cornerback William Jackson (calf), defensive end Daniel Wise (knee) and safety Deshazor Everett have been ruled out.

Collins battled through his foot injury in Tuesday’s loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. He missed a Week 13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders with a foot injury.

Jackson exited and did return in the first half of the Eagles’ game. It’s been reported he may be dealing with a rare Achilles sprain in actuality.

Wise suffered a knee injury when he hit with a low block from Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert.

Everett is out after being involved in a fatal car crash that killed a female passenger in his car. Everett was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Additionally, team leading tackler linebacker Cole Holcomb was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday.

In good news, Washington activated safety Kamren Curl and cornerback Kendall Fuller from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Quarterback Kyle Allen was also taken off the COVID-19 list. Given Collins and Jackson statuses, Fuller and Curl’s return is just in time.
