Washington Wizards fans and the DC area, Kyle Kuzma needs your help. The fan-favorite took to Twitter Friday to ask where he could find the “mumbo chicken?”
Kuzma is referencing the condiment mumbo sauce on chicken (and french fries) that has been popularized in the DC area through local Chinese carryout restaurants. Mumbo or mambo sauce is quintessential to the area.
It’s a debate of it’s origins being in Chicago. Court rulings on the originator’s trademark has forced locals in DC to refer to the sauce as mambo. All that aside, DC has embraced it much like its embraced go-go music.

Southeast natives, like myself, know there are plenty of great options within the vicinity of the Wizards practice.
Kuzma is in his first season with the Wizards. He is under contract for three years. Thus, the Flint, Michigan native and former Los Angeles Laker is seemingly trying to embrace the culture of the nation’s capital.
On the court, he has endured himself to Wizards fans with his play. Kuzma is second on the team with 15.7 points. He is also averaging a team-high 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 40 starts.
He’s on a nine-game tear in which he’s averaging 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds while shooting 54.3% from the field. Additionally, he has developed a knack for making clutch shots, as the Wizards are off to a 22-20 start on the season.
