The NBA suspended Washington Wizards assistant coach Mike Batiste two games for entering the spectator stands to confront a fan. The league announced the punishment Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred towards the end of Monday’s home blowout loss to the Miami Heat. Batiste and a fan exchanged words before Batiste stood up and jumped into the stands in attempt to confront the fan.
Wizards center Montrezl Harrell and others intervened, holding Batiste back.
Washington’s head coach Wes Unseld Jr. acknowledged the fan said something that crossed the line. However, Unseld added players and teams have to take the high road.
