Mimi Collins is now the fifth Maryland women’s player to enter transfer portal

There’s a mass exodus with the Maryland women’s basketball program. Maryland forward Mimi Collins has entered the transfer portal, according to Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post.

Collins is now the fifth Maryland women’s player to enter the transfer portal in the last 24 hours. She joins the Terrapins’ leading scorer forward Angel Reese, second-leading scorer guard Ashley Owusu and reserves Taisiya Kozlova and Channise Lewis.

Collins’ decision to leave is based on education, according to Copeland. She is seeking a graduate degree dealing with communications.

Mimi Collins played the past two seasons at Maryland after transferring from Tennessee. She played in 32 games, starting 15 this past season. She averaged 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds.

With Chloe Bibby and Katie Benzan exhausting their eligibility, guard Diamond Miller is the only one of Maryland’s top-six scorers from this past season not to enter the transfer portal.
