Mets reliever Trevor May has amazing reaction to giving up a Juan Soto homer

Juan Soto has a power that’s nearly unmatched. The Washington Nationals 23-year slugger displayed his power when he uncorked a moonshot into the second deck of Nationals Park in the sixth inning off New York Mets reliever Trevor May.

May threw a 95-mph fastball that Soto absolutely tattooed. May turned his head to watch. But once he realized the ball was lost in Washington nightly sky, he immediately looked away and threw his hand up in disgust, knowing it wasa gone.

May shouldn’t feel too bad. Soto has been blasting pitches since he entered the majors in 2019.

Soto’s accomplishes in such a short time in the league is remarkable. Before Thursday’s Opening Day contest, he was awarded his Silver Slugger he earned last season after leading MLB with 145 walks while hitting .313 with 29 home runs.

Thursday’s homer was Soto’s 99th of his career. That’s one judging by his reaction, May would like to forget.
