The Washington Commanders are here. The name change came in February and we have seen the logo, updated crest, glimpses of the uniforms and helmets. Now, the organization is working to update the branding and signage of the team. That includes the playing field at their home stadium FedEx Field.
On Tuesday, the Commanders provided a glimpse of their new field with their updated end zones and markings.
Aside from the “Commanders” markings in the end zone, the next noticeable change is at the midfield. For the first time since the team dropped its old moniker “Redskins” Washington has a team logo painted midfield.
The field updates come a few days before Thursday’s NFL draft. The Commanders will also hold a draft party with fans at FedEx Field that night. So those in attendance will get to see the new markings for the first time up close.
