The Washington Commanders will reportedly play at the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
Aside from the Commanders being in primetime facing off against Justin Fields and the Bears, it will be a reunion for a pair of Washington offensive tackles, Charles Leno Jr. and Cornelius Lucas.
Leno responded to the news of the Commanders vs. the Bears with a great reaction.
Leno spent seven seasons with the Bears. He signed a four-year, $38 million extension in 2017. However, the Bears released him in May 2021 after drafting his presumed replacement Teven Jenkins.
Leno signed a one-year deal with Washington immediately after his release. He started all 17 games last season. He played well and solidified the Commanders’ offensive line line at left tackle. This offseason, Leno signed a three-year, $37.5 million deal to remain in Washington.
Now he’ll get his first crack at his former team on the field, with Washington traveling to Chicago on Oct. 13.
