Jack Del Rio kept Twitter laughing with tweet to Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr.

Washington defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio was fired up on Twitter Thursday evening. He responded to a user’s rant directed at him and others about the Daron Payne contract saga, by saying “Bite deez.”

After drawing humor throughout the social media app among Commanders fans, Del Rio offered a strong defense of Payne, who declined to participate in on-field team drills during OTA in response to a lack of contract extension.

Then, Del Rio turned his attention across Twitter to congratulate Wes Unseld Jr. for being hired as the head coach of the Washington Wizards.

Great, except Unseld Jr. was hired 10 months ago.

Unseld has already completed his first season with the Wizards, finishing with a 35-47 record. The Wizards missed the playoffs.

Twitter users joined in on the fun, including some of the media.

There was the congrats for Bruce Boudreau for being hired by the Washington Capitals. Boudreau coached the Capitals from 2007-2012.

Then there was Jim Zorn, who coached the Washington Commanders franchise for two seasons 2008-2009.

Another user congratulated former Washington head coach Joe Gibbs for winning his first Super Bowl.

Better late than never, right Coach Del Rio?!

One can make the assumption Jack Del Rio didn’t just find out Unseld was hired. No one knows the real reason for the Tweet. But, it surely drew a hilarious reaction from onlookers. It was a fun-filled day for Del Rio on Twitter. A great way to complete a week of OTA practices…
