Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. returned to the practice field on Wednesday less than three weeks after being shot multiple times in an attempted armed robbery.
Robinson rode a stationary bike before doing stretches and agility ladder drills. Initially, there was just word of mouth from the team’s beat writers. But on Thursday, Robinson shared an inspirational video of him doing the drills.
Robinson’s knee was heavily wrapped. One of the bullets hit him in the knee. Miraculously, he avoided severe injury.
Robinson is eyeing a return to the field this season. Washington placed him on the non-football injury list before the start of the season, meaning Robinson will miss at least the first four games. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that Robinson has a “realistic” chance to play in Week 5.
After watching Robinson weave through the ladder, there’s little doubt of him playing for the Commanders this season.
