Former two-time MLB All-Star Asdrubal Cabrera sparked a bench-clearing brawl Saturday during a Venezuelan Professional Baseball League game between the Caribes de Anzoategui and Tiburnoes de La Guaira. Cabrera took exception to Carlos Castro’s bat flip after his third home run of the game.
As Castro trotted around first base, Cabrera charged at him. Cabrera then struck Castro, knocking him down. The benches cleared, and a fight ensued.
Cabrera played for multiple teams during his 15 seasons in the MLB, including two stints with the Washington Nationals. He was with the Nats when the club claimed its first-ever World Series title in 2019.
Cabrera also played eight seasons with Cleveland. He played three seasons for Washington and the New York Mets along with other teams. He last played in the majors in 2021 with the Cincinnati Reds.
