Giannis gives himself rebound to secure triple-double against Wizards

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks were mere seconds from a 117-111 win over the Washington Wizards. Antetekounmpo was a couple of rebounds shy of a triple-double when he took matters into his own hands.

Giannis collected the rebound off a desperation three from Wizards’ guard Corey Kispert with 11 seconds remaining. Antetekounmpo was still one board shy of the feat. Thus, he lobbed the ball off the backboard and casually grabbed the rebound to complete the triple-double as the final buzzer sounded.

Antetekounmpo finished the game with 23 points, 13 assists, and ten rebounds for his fourth triple-double this season. Kispert’s reaction said it all. With all the talk about stat-padding this week, Giannis felt obligated to give a prime example. Knowing his joking demeanor, it’s possible he just wanted to give everyone a good laugh.

Those Giannis’ triple-double bettors will surely love the effort. It was very Ricky Davis-like. Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic may want to know what Kendrick Perkins says about this stat-padding moment.
