There is no question that the relationship between former Golden State Warriors teammates Draymond Green and Jordan Poole is severed. Now Poole got traded to the Washington Wizards, the chatter has increased about the infamous punch at practice that led to the downfall of their friendship.
Recently, Draymond Green was on the Patrick Beverley podcast, and the Warriors star opened up about the punch saying, “I just don’t hit people.”
Green suggested a dialogue between the two built up over time before the incident at practice.
Jordan Poole’s father, Anthony, fired back at Draymond over social media.
“I’m stand on this that’s is some bs,” Anthony Poole stated on social media. “JP was his guy and he avoid me all last year. He is a soft [expletive] and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want.”
Green hasn’t relented. Instead, he clapped back at Anthony Poole.
“That’s so cute… It’s impossible to avoid you [in] an arena for a year champ,” Green commented. “I got [to] get my family from the family room every game. And stop using those words, they usually don’t go over well amongst men.”
The exchange illustrates the love lost between Green and Poole’s family. Still, Jordan Poole has remained relatively quiet on the matter. His silence has been golden, and he has avoided mentioning Green at every turn.
Poole changed his approach Wednesday, responding to all the madness on his Instagram story.
“Talk of the topic…,” Poole wrote with rapper Gunna’s song “bottom” playing in the background. Poole added, “Find you a hobby…😂 “
The Warriors kept the tension following the incident quiet throughout last season. But the chatter was bound to start after Poole got traded to the Wizards. Both Green and Poole have gotten asked about the ordeal. For the most part, the two have refrained from it, outside of acknowledging it happened.
Yet, the more the questions have come, Green cracked. And the Poole followed suit. Even Poole’s best friend chimed in his thoughts.
It’s safe to assume both Draymond Green and Jordan Poole will circle the two meetings between the Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards next season on their respective calendars.
