Jordan Poole’s father wasted no time responding to Draymond Green

Recently, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green punching former teammate Jordan Poole was not an instant reaction.

“I just don’t hit people,” Green stated, while suggesting a dialogue between Poole and he led to the infamous punch during a Warriors’ preseason practice last October. “We know things that you have to stand on,” Green ended his thoughts.

Jordan Poole has been quiet publicly about the incident and his relationship with Green. He’s used his silence and body gestures to illustrate his feelings. However, his father took a different approach.

Poole’s dad, Anthony, wasted no time reacting to Draymond Green’s recent comments on the Patrick Beverley podcast.

“I’m stand on this that’s is some bs,” Anthony Poole stated on social media. “JP was his guy and he avoid me all last year. He is a soft [expletive] and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want.”

Poole and Green co-existed last season despite the punch. But once the Warriors were eliminated from the playoffs in the Western Conference Semifinals by the Los Angeles Lakers, it was evident the two could no longer be on the same team.

Despite signing a four-year, $128 million rookie extension the previous summer, the Warriors traded Poole to the Washington Wizards in a package that landed them 12-time All-Star Chris Paul.

Now separated, Green opened up about the situation. Meanwhile, Poole’s father could no longer remain silent. While Jordan may remain professional, Anthony has drawn the line with Green’s recent comments.

Green previously said he apologized to Poole and his parents. Yet, Anthony Poole denied the apology ever happened to his wife and him. It will be difficult for all parties to move on from the situation.

No matter how well Draymond Green and Jordan Poole do on their respective teams, neither can live down that moment easily. Poole has already been asked about it by the Washington media. Green has avoided talking about it on his podcast. Yet, he’s going to get asked by others.

Hopefully, Green and the Poole family can bury the hatchet at some point.
