The Washington Commanders won’t play the Dallas Cowboys until Thanksgiving. However, the rivalry between the two NFC East foes already got some fuel to the fire after Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons responded to a post on X by Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
Dotson posted “2-0, 🥱” in which Parsons quoted a reply, “I’m coming…”
The Cowboys and Commanders sit atop the division with a 2-0 record with the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas’ defense has been relentless in sweeping the two New York teams, the Giants and Jets, by a combined score of 70-10.
Meanwhile, Washington is 2-0 for the first time since 2011. They’ve had great returns from second-year quarterback Sam Howell, who remains a perfect 3-0 in his NFL career. That’s despite the shakiness of the Commanders offensive line.
The O-line will have plenty of time to shape up before Parsons gets on the same field. But, he wanted to let Dotson and the rest of the Commanders locker room know he’s coming.
it’s worth noting Parsons and Dotson were teammates at Penn State for three seasons. Therefore Parsons’ warning could be some friendly gaming. Yet, make no mistakes about it they’ll be looking to one-up each other for bragging rights.
Parson has drawn comparisons to the Hall of Fame great Lawrence Taylor. Howell has been glowing. Dotson is looking to build off a strong rookie season last year.
Each has quite a few games to worry about before their first of two season clashes on Thanksgiving. But if the Cowboys and Commanders remain hot, that game will have a lot on the line besides a heated rivalry.
