Jayden Daniels wins fourth Rookie of the Week in five games

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been named Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in five weeks. Daniels completed 14-of-31 passes for 238 yards with a touchdown and interception in the Commanders’ 34-13 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Daniels also led the Commanders with 82 rushing yards, leading Washington to its fourth consecutive win. His string of good performances has him as the frontrunner for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Some pundits are already calling the Rookie the best quarterback in the NFC.

Jayden Daniels has thrown for 1,135 yards and four touchdowns on the season. He also has 300 rushing yards and four scores with his feet. Daniels is already outpacing first-year marks; he is now the first player in NFL history to have 1,000 passing yards and 250 rushing yards through the first five games.

He’s led the Commanders to their first 4-1 start since 2008, leading analysts to label him an MVP candidate. The Commanders enter Week 6 in first place in the NFC East.

Daniels, named Rookie of the Week three straight weeks, will face two-time reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Daniels has been compared to Jackson early on. Football fans are highly anticipating this matchup of two of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the sport.
