The Nationals revealed their 25-man NLCS roster that includes righthand reliever Daniel Hudson being placed on the paternity list.
Hudson will be allowed to be out for one to three days. He will then return and reliver Wander Suero will be dropped off the NLCS roster.
Hudson’s wife delivered his third child Friday. He will hang back a day to spend time with his family before joining the Nationals, according to Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post.
Other changes is that relievers Javy Guerra and Roenis Elias replace Hunter Strickland and ultimately Suero once Hudson returns.
Elias gives the Nationals another left-handed arm in the bullpen alongside Sean Doolittle.
The position players remain the same as the NLDS. Although there is concern for the health of catcher Kurt Suzuki (wrist) and center fielder Victor Robles (hamstring). Both were injured during the NLDS.
Robles was hurt running down the first base line in Game 2 against the Dodgers. Suzuki was hit-by-pitch in Game 5 that hit his wrist and ricocheted to his face in a scary scene.
Game 1 is Friday night in St. Louis. The Cardinals will start right hander Miles Mikolas. The Nationals will start veteran righty Anibal Sanchez.
