Chris Thompson had his season ended abruptly in 2018 with a broken fibula last November. He has worked his way back and on Sunday in the season opener, he showed he has picked up right where he left off a season ago, scoring the Washington Redskins’ first touchdown of the season.

Thompson broke off his option route out of the backfield as quarterback Alex Smith found him opened sliding out towards the sideline for a touchdown.
Chris Thompson is so valuable. #Redskins really missed him last year after he got hurt. Great to have him back healthy and appropriate he gets the first Skins TD of the season pic.twitter.com/ah2BFyvev1

Thompson already has four catches for 32 yards in the first half of the game, and the Redskins now enjoy a 7-0 lead. Him being healthy and being a valuable option for Smith as the Redskins lead receiving running back, will only make the offense better.
