Florida tight ends coach Larry Scott is set to become the head coach of the Howard Bison football program, according to Chris Vannini of the Athletic.

Scott becomes the Bison third coach in three years. He will replace Ron Prince, who resigned after one season following an investigation surrounding abuse allegations.

Scott, 43, has been a position coach for most of career since 2006 with stops at South Florida, Miami and Tennessee as well as Florida. He also served as an interim head coach at Miami following a 2015 firing of Al Golden. He was 4-2 during his stint with the Hurricanes.

Scott is known as a great recruiter who was integral in building a talented Florida Gators team in the last two recruiting classes.

Howard’s 2019 season was marred with transfers and the Prince ordeal, leading to a 2-10 record, including 2-6 in the MEAC.
