The three time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal isn’t himself this season. The Washington Wizards star is currently averaging 22.5 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds. Last year Beal was playing at a phenomenal rate with 31.3 points per game on 48.5% per game.
Beal has had a lot of ups and downs this season, with shooting a career-low 26.3% from the three. His inability to shoot the ball brings the team down as well. The Wizards are at the bottom of the league at three pointers this season, averaging only 10 three-pointers per game this season.
Beal isn’t only bringing himself down, but the team down. Bradley Beal’s strength is mainly scoring. So if he isn’t scoring, he isn’t doing much. The Wizards rely on Beal to lead the offense, something he has struggled at. His 3.5 turnovers per game is 10th in the NBA.
On Saturday night the Wizards faced off against the Jazz in Utah. The Jazz defeated the Wizards by 25 points by the score of 123-98.
The Wizards’ defense was awful. The Jazz went off in the 4th quarter, scoring 42 points! Utah shot 51.6% from the field for the game, making 48 field goals.
Beal was tough on himself after the game.
“I’ve been s—y all year, I’ve gotta be better,” Beal said per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.
Beal struggled in the game. Despite scoring 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting, he had six turnovers. He was only capable of cashing in 1-of 3 threes.
Beal has to step it up offensively, since the Wizards rely on him to put the ball in the bucket. The loss drops the Wizards to seventh seed in the East. After a 10-3 start, Washington is now 5-9 since.
The Wizards will look to get back on track Monday at the Denver Nuggets
