While Bruce Allen may have been the most unpopular figure within the Washington Redskins organization among fans, the team’s training staff was a close second. Monday, the Redskins fired Allen and head trainer Larry Hess.
Both firings were long overdue and both came to an head with Trent Williams taking exception to the training staff’s handling of a growth on his head that turned to be cancerous and had to be removed. He also turned his ire to Allen in the aftermath.
As far as Hess and the training staff, Williams was not alone within the Redskins locker room. Following news of Hess’s firing, Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar responded through Twitter.
It appears it’s a new day in Redskins Park. And excitement is order for the fans and possibly players too.
