Redskins DL Ziggy Hood Out vs. Giants with Fractured Elbow

Washington Redskins defensive lineman Ziggy Hood will miss Sunday’s season finale against the New York Giants. Head coach Jay Gruden announced Hood suffered a fractured right elbow in Week 16’s win over the Denver Broncos.

Hood played in all 15 games thus far this season, starting in 13. He recorded 13 tackles, playing on 539 snaps. He is rated as the No. 124 defensive interior lineman in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Redskins still will have five healthy defensive linemen for Sunday’s game in East Rutherford, N.J. Terrell McClain is back in the rotation after dealing with a toe injury. Anthony Lanier II and Matt Ioannidis have anchored the defensive line that has played well down the stretch.

As for Hood, he has one year remaining at a cap hit of $1.4 million on a two-year deal he signed before the season.
