Brian Dozier is trending, no not for his recent tear at the plate, but for his celebratory twerking.
The Washington Nationals’ infielder has become a topic of discussion with his latest craze of twerking. Sunday he hit his 14th home run of the season which also extended the Nationals home run streak to 21 games — a franchise-record.
As Dozier made it to the dugout, he gave manager Davey Martinez a love tap on his nads.
Dozier then proceeded to twerk in the dugout to laughter of his Nationals’ teammates, and joy of DC baseball fans.
If you love the Nationals, then it’s hard to complain about Dozier’s twerking. Washington has won 28 of their last 39 and surged to the top of the NL wild card standing.
The bullpen has improved after their disastrous start to the season. The starting pitchers are stifling opposing bats. And the offense has exploded with Dozier being a huge contributor.
Since Jun. 1, Dozier is hitting .284/.359/.600 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs.
“I like to twerk,” Brian Dozier told Dan Kolko of MASN. “I’ve always been a twerker since my college days. That’s kind of my thing. You’ve got to drop it low every now and then, right?”
