Washington Redskins inside linebacker Mason Foster has been placed on injured reserve. Redskins head coach Jay Gruden made the announcement on Friday, saying Foster played the last three games with a torn labrum, an injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams back in Week 2.

It appears Foster is not happy about either the decision to place him on IR or something that may have been discussed following the decision. In a series of tweets, Foster called out the Redskins front office, displaying his displeasure with the team before chiming back and forth with a few fans upset with his choice of publicly going at the team.

While he did not say who he was directly talking about, he did throw a hint when he referenced he would not get the same shady treatment from former general manager Scot McCloughan.

Foster then cleared up there is no beef with his coaches and teammates. All while making it clear the front office is the target of his tweets.

However, he did make a reference about his situation when a fan stated Foster was doing the team “dirty” by taking “starter money” when in his opinion Foster was a special teamer.

Following the early morning tweets, it seems that he sat down and talked to someone within the Redskins’ brass. Foster gave an update on the matter saying.

Foster is a free agent following this season. He beat out Will Compton and Martrell Spaight for the starting Mike linebacker position. With Foster out for the remainder of the season, the team will turn to either Compton, who was the captain of the defense in 2016, or Spaight, who has played in spots where Foster dealt with his bothersome shoulder.

Foster finished the season with 31 tackles, 0.5 sacks, one interception, and a fumble recovery.
