Washington Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger is in a groove right now. After his two-interception game last week, Swearinger kept his hot streak intercepting Drew Brees on the New Orleans’ opening drive.
Brees faced a 3rd-and-16. Swearinger worked from the middle to the left side to jump the deep pass from Brees for his third interception in two weeks.
Swearinger has been suspect in man coverage much of the season. However, when put back in deep coverage, he has the range to cover ground in a heap.
The Redskins scored a field goal off Swearinger’s pick.
