Bradley Beal made a bit of NBA history Monday in the Washington Wizards’ 99-88 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Beal made his 700th career three-pointer, becoming the youngest player to do so in NBA history.
Beal, who is 24 years and 145 days old, surpassed J.R. Smith of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who was four days older when he made his 700th three.
With the milestone, Beal joins an established list of players to make 700 treys before their 25th birthday.

Gilbert Arenas enjoyed his prime years with the Washington Wizards and is considered one of best players in franchise history, especially in recent memory. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are two of the league’s best players today.
What makes Beal’s accomplishment more remarkable is the fact he was troubled with a series of stress fractures throughout his first four seasons. It’s safe to assume he may have been able to knock down 700 threes quicker if not for the injury-plagued start.
Beal made 91 threes as a rookie in 56 games. Since that season, he has made at least 105 three-pointers in a season. Last season he had a career-high 223 three-point makes. His 36 before Monday’s game pushed his career total to 699. He shot 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Beal is developing into one of the premier shooting guards in the NBA. This season, he is averaging a career-high 24.2 points per game through 17 games. With him signed for the next three-and-half seasons, Beal will continue to stack up the milestones while wearing the Wizards colors.
