John Wall Pins Chandler Parson’s Dunk against Backboard for Crucial Block

John Wall returned to the hardwood on Wednesday night after missing eight straight games with a knee injury that required him receivingĀ platelet-rich plasma injection(s). Playing in his first game back against the Memphis Grizzlies, he scored a solid 13 points and had four assists in 28 minutes. But, his defensive impact was felt throughout the game.

On a critical fourth quarter possession late in the game, Memphis swing Chandler Parsons appeared to have a dunk or layup in hand. That is until the best shot-blocking point guard in NBA history locked in and pinned his shot against the backboard.

The fiery Wall celebrated as the ball bounced off JaMychal Green out of bounds, giving the Washington Wizards possession. Washington held on to a 89-80 lead with 1:03 remaining. They would go on to win 93-87.

Wall’s impact play shows how much of a superstar and difference maker he is. He struggled offensively shooting 6-of-15 and missed all four of his free throw attempts, as he works to get back in game shape on a minutes restriction. Still, his presence on the defensive end gave Washington something they have missed the past eight games.

The block on Parsons strengthens the argument, Wall is the best shot-blocking guard in the NBA today, and his legacy continues to grow that no shot is safe around him, no matter who and how tall you are.
