Note to the NHL, try to keep the puck out of possession of Alex Ovechkin. The Great One had the puck in overtime and delivered. Ovechkin put away the game-winner in overtime to complete the Washington Capitals’ rally, as they downed the Anaheim Duck 3-2.
Ovechkin got the puck at center ice while waiting for a line change. But, he saw an opening working one-on-one Ducks defenseman Brandon Montour. Driving hard on the wing, Ovechkin took a slap shot at the net that got through goalie John Gibson for the win!
Ovechkin made some history and strengthen his legacy with 99th career game-winner.
