The Wizards uniforms are white with the words “The District of Columbia” embroidered across the chest plate in navy blue on the jersey. The shorts feature the city’s flag on the waist line along with the team’s logo at the bottom left front. The player’s last name is in navy blue. The numbers are a more bright white with navy blue outline. The side panel is a marble pattern outlined in red on both the jersey and shorts and combined shape out to resemble the Washington Monument.

It’s a pretty cool design and one of the better ‘City Edition’ uniforms in the league. Then again, the Wizards have one of the better uniforms in the league with the Icon and Association sets. In its first year as the uniform providers of the NBA, Nike has found a way to make the Wizards’ uniform set more impressive.
Initially, the Wizards included the City uniforms in their uniform schedule to be worn this week. Instead, for whatever reason the team will debut them Jan. 30 against Oklahoma City and will wear the alternates 12 times in total, as Candace Buckner of the Washington Post points out.

It may not be the popular ‘Stars and Stripes’ uniforms worn last season. But, they still get my approval and are more in tune with the city.
