John Wall Emphatically Blocks Aaron Gordon’s Layup

Listening to critics from afar will cost you not to appreciate the all-around game of John Wall. The Washington Wizards point guard is not only one of the NBA’s best passers, a franchise player that can score in bunches and one-half of one of the top-2 backcourts in the league, he is also a great defender.

In his defensive skill set is his ability to block shots despite being just 6-foot-4. Wall has mastered the ability to block shots, and earlier this season proclaimed himself as the “best shot-blocking point guard in NBA history.”

More and more at every sight of each block, it’s hard to argue his point. In Friday night’s win over the Orlando Magic, Wall held a block party with three blocks. His most impressive showed off his ability to defend the post like a big.

Orlando’s Aaron Gordon posted up Wall, thinking the size difference, you’d think it’s an ideal matchup for the Magic’s power forward. Except, he was being defended by Wall. Wall stood his ground, shifting Gordon to his strong hand. As Gordon spun to get free, Wall patiently waited and swatted the shot off the glass.

Afterwards, Wall gave Gordon a stare down.

He also had a chase down block at the end of the first half.

While critics want to be worried about the box score and key on the slip-ups the Wizards have as a team, lose sight of how individually talented is Wall.
