John Wall appears to be inching back to a return to the basketball court. On Monday, the Washington Wizards star guard participated in a number of activities, including five-on-zero drills.

Wall went through the drill with the starting lineup that included Bradley Beal and Otto Porter. He also had time with Tomas Satoransky. Accounts of the practice say both interchanged between point and shooting guard as well as Satoransky playing small forward.

Wall did about 30-35 minutes of activity with no said issues.

“He went hard and looked great,” Wizards head coach Scott Brooks said per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. “He was a little winded, but that was expected.”

The five-on-zero drill had no defense and no contact. Afterwards, Wall took shots with assistant coaches.

He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in January. He has since missed 19 games. After starting 5-0, the Wizards are now 12-7 in those games without Wall and 17-13 this season without him.

The Wizards are set to play a back-to-back Tuesday and Wednesday, therefore they will not have any practices until Friday. Meanwhile, Wall will continue to work on the court with trainers and coaches in hopes of joining his teammates for Friday’s practice.

He has yet to be cleared for contact, however, he appears to be on schedule to the six-to-eight weeks time frame given for his recovery.
