The Washington Redskins’ search for a cornerback continues. Their search will stay within the NFC East, as former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick is set to visit Redskins Park on Monday, according to John Keim of ESPN.

Scandrick was released by the Cowboys after requesting his release. He spent 11 seasons in Dallas, recording eight interceptions and 11.5 sacks in 125 games. His best season of his career was in 2014 when he was named to second team All-Pro.
Last season, he played 11 games. He had his time cut down in favor of a youth movement in Dallas with Jourdan Lewis and Chidobe Awuzie getting expanded playing time.
Scandrick is a versatile defensive back that can play on the outside as well in the slot. He is a good blitzer off the edge and does a good job disguising his assignment in pre-snap. The question is whether his All-Pro level of play is behind him or not?
Washington recently met with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The former New York Giants corner left the area without a contract. According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Rodgers-Cromartie will wait to decide on any deal.

Nonetheless, the Redskins are keeping their options open by hosting Scandrick. The Redskins are looking to add a cornerback, specifically one who can play in the slot.
This offseason, Washington traded premiere slot corner Kendall Fuller to Kansas City along with a third-round pick to acquire quarterback Alex Smith. Bashaud Breeland, a starter as well last season, initially agreed to a three-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. However, he has since failed his physical for an injured foot, nullifying the deal.
Washington has in-house options with second-year pros Fabian Moreau and Josh Hosley, but they appear set at entertaining options of bringing in a veteran to bolster the secondary.
