Outspoken Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman joined New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis at a San Antonio Walmart to buy toys and book bags. The 3:00 a.m. shopping spree was for children who were separated from their parents and families at U.S.-Mexico border and released from detention centers, according to Kimberly Martin of the Washington Post.

Both Norman and Davis have been vocal for social injustice, and the team NFL players teamed up for the charitable gesture. The two personally handed out the items as well as feeding pizza to the awaiting children.

Davis shared the two players’ experience on his Instagram account.

More than 2,500 children were separated from their parents earlier this month as part of United States President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, according to the Washington Post. Trump has since issued an executive order to end family separations, but roughly 2,000 children reportedly have not been reunited with their parents.

Norman and Davis partnered with Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a nonprofit agency that provides free and low-cost legal services to under-served immigrant children, families and refugees in Texas.
