The Washington Wizards finally land a free agent, as forward Jeff Green agrees to a one-year deal worth the league minimum, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com.

Green will join the Wizards to replace the departed Mike Scott, who signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Green, who will turn 32 next month, averaged 10.8 points and shot 47.7 percent from the field, including 31.2 percent from three last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Green is a DMV native, growing up in nearby Cheverly. He starred in local programs in every level including high school at Northwestern (Hyattsville, Md.) and Georgetown University. However, he had never spent time in D.C. during his professional career until now.
He brings the ability to play both forward positions allowing Wizards head coach Scott Brooks and his staff similar flexibility with their lineups as Scott presented last season. Scott put up exceptional numbers off the bench, shooting 40.5 percent from three and 52.7 percent from the field, but both marks were by far his career-highs. Green will have a similar opportunity to raise his shooting numbers playing in the free flow offense that creates spacing for the wing and stretch-four positions surrounding the dynamic backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal.
The Wizards will be Green’s seventh team in the NBA. He has averaged 13.2 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 33.2 percent from three throughout his 11-year career.
The Wizards cross out a huge need and may not be finish adding. They are linked to the likes of Jamal Crawford among others, but for now they’ll rejoice in gaining a veteran hometown talent that has produced throughout his career as a starter and reserve.
