Elena Delle Donne Becomes Fastest WNBA Player to Reach 3,000 Points

Elena Delle Donne made WNBA history, as she became the fastest player in league history to score 3,000 points. The Washington Mystics star accomplished the feat with a spot-up three early in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Dream.

With the mark she passes two future WNBA legends in the process for fastest to reach the milestone.

Delle Donne arrived to the Mystics in 2017 via a trade as the then-restricted free agent yearned to join a team closer to her Delaware-based family. She has since been the spark and cornerstone player the franchise has yearned since its WNBA start in 1998. This season she is second in the league with 20.5 point per game and have led the Mystics to a final four appearance in the 2017 playoffs and currently have them as one of the top teams in the league.

As for Sunday’s game, Delle Donne finished with game-highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Unfortunately, that was not enough as her Mystics fell to the Dream 80-77.
