The Washington Redskins fear that second-year wide receiver Robert Davis may have suffered a torn ACL during practice on Saturday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Davis limped around after running a deep route against coverage by Danny Johnson. Trainers told him to get down and after examining him on the practice field had him carted off to further evaluation. An MRI was scheduled for later this evening according to Garafolo.

Davis was a sixth-round pick in 2017 and appeared in one game as a rookie after spending most of the season on the practice squad. The Georgia State product was competing for a roster spot in a wide open wide receiver competition.

He was having an impressive camp and caught three passes on four targets for 35 yards in Thursday’s preseason opener against the New England Patriots.

Earlier Saturday, the Redskins placed this year’s second-round pick, running back Derrius Guice and tight end Mannaseh Garner on injured reserve after each suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s game. The team also waived/injured fullback Elijah Wellman.
