Elena Delle Donne Exits Mystics’ Game 2 Loss with Scary Knee Injury

Elena delle donne

Elena Delle Donne was well on her way to another stellar performance in Game 2 of the WNBA Semifinals series between the Washington Mystics and Atlanta Dream. The Mystics star had 27 points, 14 rebounds and six assists when she drove to the lane and her knee buckled. She crumbled to the floor and immediately grabbed her knee while writhing in pain.

Delle Donne was attended to by trainers before she was helped off the floor to the locker room for further evaluation. Her injury occurred with 3:07 remaining in the fourth quarter with the Mystics leading the Dream 70-68.

With their best player out of the game, the Mystics ran out of steam late, as the Dream rallied to win the game at 78-75. The outcome of the game pales in comparison to the concern for Delle Donne. The best-of-five series is now tied at 1-1 with the series shifting to D.C. for the next two games, but with a good possibility of Washington being without Delle Donne.
