With the 53-man roster in place, the Washington Redskins announced they have signed eight players to their practice squad. Just as he lead the biggest name to be cut, running back Kapri Bibbs tops the list of players added to the practice squad.

Bibbs gives the Redskins six running backs within the organization. However, Byron Marshall is expected to be placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury that he suffered in the second preseason game against thew New York Jets.

All eight practice squad players spent the preseason with the Redskins.

Washington did not claim any players off waiver, according to Ben Standig of The Sports Capitol.

Of the list, wide receiver Simmie Cobbs Jr. will be the most intriguing. The Redskins have shifted to a youth movement throughout their roster, but the motion is non more prevalent than at wide receiver. Cobbs impressed throughout preseason coming away with a nifty catch down the sidelines from Kevin Hogan in last week’s preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cobbs stands 6-foot-3 and has soft hands. His 4.64 40-yard dash time and an ankle injury that forced him to be a medical redshirt in 2016may have been a reason he went undrafted last spring out of Indiana before signing with the Redskins. With the Redskins, he has flashed some of the raw talent he had that led him to scoring eight touchdowns while catching 72 receptions for 841 yards in 2017 with the Hoosiers.

For some of the individuals there will be a musical chair throughout their NFL career, but for a few of the eight players, they will have a legit chance of hatching on with the Redskins in the near future.
