What’s better than becoming the sixth pitcher to record 300 strikeouts in a season since 1990?
Seeing your wife enjoy the moment just as much. That was the case for Washington Nationals’ ace Max Scherzer, as his wife had a priceless reaction of jubilation for the rare milestone.
Scherzer struck out Miami Marlins’ Andrew Dean with a slider in the seventh inning for his 10th strikeout of the game, and No. 300 on the season. Right in his viewpoint behind home plate was his lovely wife, Erica.

Scherzer now joins, Chris Sale (2017) and Clayton Kershaw (2015) as the only active pitchers to hit 300 strikeouts. Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Pedro Martinez join the list of pitchers who have done so since 1990.
So speechless, so proud, SO happy!!! #300 pic.twitter.com/mavhuHGlol
