Maryland senior running back Ty Johnson has home run speed. Any touch of his can go the distance. Saturday playing against Michigan in the Big House of Ann Arbor, Johnson put that blazing speed to display, outracing the Wolverines down the sideline on a 98-yard kickoff return.
Johnson entered Saturday’s big game averaging 11.7 yards per rush and 24.1 yards per kickoff. The return was his second kickoff return for a touchdown in his collegiate career and momentarily gave the Terrapins a 7-3 lead over the No. 15 Wolverines.
Maryland (3-1, 1-0 in Big Ten) are looking for its second win since at Ann Arbor since joining the Big Ten in 2014.
