John Wall capped off an amazing night with a dagger jumper that sealed the Washington Wizards a 102-97 win over the Detroit Pistons.
Wall scored 32 points and dropped nine assists in the win and scored 13 of the Wizards’ final 17 points, but that’s a story to itself. But this is about two things, Wall being clutch closing out a win and him doing so with a jumper nonetheless.
Yes, it’s preseason, but in the NBA every game is presented an opportunity. With the shot clock running down and the Wizards with a three-point lead, Wall finished off the possession by creating spacing and getting to his spot above the elbow before rising over Ish Smith for the dagger.
