The Washington Wizards have waived forward Ron Baker. By doing so, the Wizards avoid guaranteeing Baker’s one-year deal he signed with the team on Dec. 21. The NBA had a 5 p.m. deadline Monday for non-guaranteed contracts to be guaranteed for the season.
Washington signed Baker one week after he was waived by the New York Knicks. With the Wizards, he appeared in four games averaging 11.3 minutes and failed to score a point in any contest.
The Wizards now have one roster spot opened heading towards the second half of the season. They have two weeks to fill the spot per league policy.
